Welcome to the Kids for the Cure® program. This is an exiting opportunity to encourage children 12 and under to register as a participant in the 2007 Chicago Race for the Cure® 5Krun/walk or 1 mile fun walk on Saturday, September 29th in Grant Park at a reduced rate of $15 online; $20 mailin or $25 on race day. This is a great opportunity to teach children about community service and healthy lifestyles. Kids for the Cure® was created to educate children 12 and under about breast cancer and to support children who have been affected by this disease. Many children know someone who has been touched by breast cancer – a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or teacher. Please be sure to check the Kids for the Cure® option on your registration form. Registration fees include a specially designed Kid for the Cure® t–shirt and cinch bag. Please register early, as supplies are limited!

Congratulations to Amanda Soto who is the winner of the 2007 Kids for the Cure t-shirt contest. Amanda Soto is going to be in 8th grade at St. Maria Goretti School in Schiller Park, IL. Amanda has been in scouting for 8 years which is how she became involved in volunteering her time at Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Her t-shirt design will be on 600 Kid’s t-shirts this year and she will be recognized on Race Day.
